Founder & Director
My name is Luis Eduardo Rivera Falla, a lawyer who graduated from the Law School of the Cooperative University of Colombia. I completed my academic studies in June 2011, and on January 6, 2012 I was elected by the Municipal Council as the representative of Paicol (Huila) for the constitutional period between March 1, 2012 and February 29, 2016.
During my tenure as a municipal representative, I exercised the constitutional and legal functions of the position, acting as a delegate of the Public Prosecutor's Office in the territorial sphere. Among my notable responsibilities were the oversight and control of local administrative management, the promotion and protection of human rights, the supervision of due process, the defense of public heritage, the preservation of the environment, and the guarantee of the efficient public service provision.
In 2015, in the context of the peace process between the government of President Juan Manuel Santos and the FARC guerrilla group, the National Federation of Ombudsmen (FENALPER) called on the country's 1,108 ombudsmen to submit proposals for peacebuilding. I participated with the "Peace Conciliators" project, an initiative that was recognized as the best in the country.
This project focused on training and empowering different social actors on the points agreed upon at the negotiating table in Havana. I engaged:
The participants were certified as Peace Conciliators, and the proposal was recognized at the municipal, departmental, national and international levels. The evaluation jury included representatives from the Office of the President of the Republic, the office of the High Commissioner for Peace and ambassadors from countries such as Sweden, among others.
Thanks to this initiative, I received about 20 awards throughout the country and traveled to various regions of Colombia replicating and training on the proposal. In February 2016, I was invited to present it to the United Nations (UN) in New York and to the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, in addition to visiting the WOLA Institute, a leading human rights organization in the Americas.
In April 2016, I presented the project at the Police Academy in the department of Córdoba, making it the first police academy in the country to adopt the role of "Peace Conciliators." Subsequently, in July 2016, I took on the coordination of Victims' Rights in the municipality of Tesalia (Huila), guiding the implementation of the current legal framework and post-conflict guidelines until July 2017.
In February 2017, I was invited to the 16th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates held in Bogotá, where I had the honor of presenting my proposal to more than 30 Nobel Peace Prize winners from around the world.
Between 2018 and 2019, I worked as a remote volunteer lawyer for the Meteoritos Foundation, located in Bogotá, D.C. During this time, I acted as an external advisor on conflict and post-conflict issues within the framework of the Peace Conciliators project, providing training to victims, training public officials in peaceful conflict resolution, and providing advice to educational institutions on the culture of peace.
On January 21, 2019, I traveled to the United States, continuing with my goal of promoting peacebuilding initiatives and defending human rights at the international level. Now settled in the United States, I joined various organizations and contributed to operational excellence and community service.
From March 2022 to August 2025, I worked as a Services Consultant at High Quality Roofing, performing supervisory and support functions while providing advice on optimizing operational processes. This performance led to High Quality Roofing implementing good operational practices, strengthening customer confidence and satisfaction, and earning recognition in the GHCA Tribune's Brick by Brick publication for outstanding participation in the GHCA 2022 Business Academy.
Today, I continue my mission through the National Peace and Human Rights Education Initiative, bringing my experience and passion for peace, justice, and human rights to communities across the United States.
